Freezing in Tucker

Well, actually I am in Decatur now and in Tucker but it is still COLD BRRRRRRRRRRR!
The photo is to remind us that Spring will be here soon. This was taken at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens last year.

Did I tell you the saga of my broken glasses?
On MLK day, Jan 19th, I broke my titanium frames (they were a few years old) and since Emory was closed for the Holiday and I was happily at home I decided to go to Jacque Penney Vision Center. Fortunately, I had a recent prescription. Penney's said 7 to 14 days because I have no line bifocals and they take longer to make.
The next day, Tuesday, the 20th, I took my broken glasses to Emory Vision Center where I purchased them - one floor above my office. After waiting 4 days, I called to see if they could repair them so that I would have a back up pair. Well, they looked for two days and never found my glasses. They think they put the glasses in the Lion's Club Box and it was picked up. To make up for that error in judgement, they offered to have glasses made for me at half price (which is like full price anywhere else). They said 7 - 14 days.

In the meantime - Penney's called - Glasses in - I was so happy - well that was short-lived excitement because the glasses were awful - I could not see through them. So after another trip back to Penney's and a discussion with the Manager - they sent the glasses back and are remaking them ( 7- 14 days, of course). All the while, I have been wearing Glasses (that's right two separate pair) purchased at Kroger. One for long vision and one for close up reading. I have to keep track of two pair of glasses now AND I STILL DON'T HAVE REAL PRESCRIPTION GLASSES! Anyone who knows me is well aware that I don't have the patience of Job, in fact I don't have the patience of Job's cat, for pity sake. But, there is hope on the Horizon, Rumor has it that I just might get my glasses tomorrow. Geez, I hope so.
Well for all you LOST fans and LIFE ON MARS fans - they are on tonight back to back. Last week we had a great little TV party with snacks at my friend's home. We were not disappointed both shows were great! We ate one of those delightful edible Fruit arrangements complete with chocolate covered strawberries. Yum Yum
Until next time, be kind,
Sue

Great to hear from you!!! I know how frustrating it is to have to WAIT for things like glasses!!

Your little TV-watching party last week sounds like fun. When KT was in college, she had a group of friends that got together every week to watch Desperate Housewives together. You're never too old (or young) to spend fun times with friends!!!

See you soon....

Love ya!!

I'm well aware of your patience threshold, Jim tells ma all the time (just kidding).I also hate to wait for the essentials of life. I gave up on 'Lost', it lost me with different back stories on the same characters.
Love.

Yours is the second blog I have read recently that had that sort of problem with Penny's. Hope it all works out soon!

I have such empathy for you! My last RX was all messed up, and cost more than I've ever paid to boot! Had to make three trips, (and one to a different doc) to get it straightened out.
ps - do I know the person mentioned on Jim's blog who passed away?
