Random Thoughts

Soon Victoria will have photos on her blog showing us the good time they had at the Braves Game this weekend. The Girl Scouts were featured so Rachel and Eve participated. What fun for them, too, Rachel has an autographed baseball signed by Jeff Franceur. He and his wife visited several classes at Campcreek elementary and his mother is an instructor in one of Rachel's classes.

In a couple of weeks, at 6:50am on the 24th of September, Noah will be the "junior joker" on 104.7 the FISH, christian radio. They taped it a couple of weeks ago. We are all anticipating a great performance.

Rachel and her friend had a FAB time at the Jonas Brothers Concert. They seem like very nice young men - hopefully showbiz will not corrupt them.

If you are a fan of both Brad Paisley and Andy Griffith, you will love the music video "Waiting on a Woman." It made me cry. You can see it on line on Brad's website. Believe me it is a goody. In fact, I love all Brad's music videos. They are very clever and nearly always win awards.

Victoria has begun new cake decorating classes and I hope we get to see the results when she completes them. She really enjoys learning new techniques and applications. What she really loves is her new camera - oooooooooh!

Well, I must get back to work........
Be kind, Sue

September the Birthday month!

Labor Day weekend! Yea!
Will I ever learn??? I made the fatal mistake of telling Noah that I would take him shopping to pick out his Christmas gift but unfortunately it didn't work out on Monday. He was less than happy about it. What I SHOULD HAVE DONE was not mention my plan until we were standing in the middle of Toys R US. Oh well, I still love the experience of watching the children looking at all the toys and making decisions about what they will enjoy the most. Saturday, Aaron and Rachel had their turn because they both have birthdays this month. It was a very good experience. They are older and when I set limits they mostly listen. Aaron found lots of great stuff to choose from. Rachel, sadly, could not find some the items on her list but we did find one. We were fortunate to find a surprise gift for Eve (sept 14th birthday) who will be 6 years old. She loves science fiction's Dr. WHO and she simply adores the evil Daleks. We found a Dalek for Eve. So many birthdays and so little time but so much fun! Aaron, Rachel, Eve, Jim, Nancy, David (my brother-in-law) and our anniversary........... I am tired just thinking about it.

Did anyone see the Food Channel when Matthews Cafeteria was featured? Jim and I had lunch there on Friday (we both took the day off just to be together).

With all the Hurricanes lining up, I think we better stop praying for rain for a few days. We just need one to stall over Lake Lanier for a day or two to break our drought.

Alton Brown on Good Eats is making Chiffon cupcakes so I think I will go and check out the recipe.
