I am looking forward to being with our family this weekend (and every weekend)
Today is "Military Spouse Day" to congratulations to Katie!!!!
Yesterday we had our annual Neighborhood Watch wienie roast and meeting. The CEO of the County was there briefly and the acting-police Chief O'Brien and the Fire Services. We invited 10 neighborhoods to participate. One of the really cool toys the policeman have now is a video microphone that is mounted on their shoulder. The interesting part was the Q&A time. We all have the same concerns about safety in our homes and neighborhoods. We have a very active neighborhood watch and the county trains citizen volunteers for an additional program. We all gave praise for the Fire department and EMTs for all they do for us.
Chris, I want you to know that we fed all the Fireman and the policemen very well.
They have a website called Crime View where we can go and put in any address and see what the up to date crime statistics are for the neighborhood. How cool is that!?!?!
On April 25th, we had our Annual Southern Memorial Day celebration at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. It was a beautiful day and the speaker's subject was General John B. Gordon. The guests said it was one of very best memorial day celebrations. Here are a few photos of the event.
We who have ancestors who fought in the War Between the States enjoy the opportunity to give their memory respect.
As I have worked on my family history I gain more and more love for those who have gone before us and all they sacrificed.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Be Sweet to all you meet,
Sue
